Ingredients

  • 1 oz Joséphine Eau de Vie
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 oz Dry sparkling wine
  • 1 tsbp Sugar, for rimming the glass

Instructions

  • Chill: Chill your serving glass in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before making the cocktail. This will help keep your drink colder for longer.
  • Rim the glass: Pour a small amount of sugar onto a plate. Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of your chilled glass to moisten it. Dip the rim of the glass into the sugar, ensuring it's evenly coated.
  • Shake: In a cocktail shaker, combine the Joséphine Eau de Vie, Cointreau, and lemon juice. Fill the shaker with ice cubes. Close the lid tightly and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This chills and mixes the drink while slightly diluting it.
  • Strain: Strain the cocktail from the shaker into your prepared sugar-rimmed glass.
  • Top: Top with the dry sparkling wine.
  • Serve: Add a few ice cubes to the glass and serve immediately.

Notes

Tips for the perfect Josephine Sidecar:
  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Freshly squeezed lemon juice is key.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon juice to your preference. If you like a sweeter drink, use a little less.
  • Experiment with different types of sparkling wine. A dry Prosecco or Cava would also work well.
  • For a festive touch, garnish with a lemon twist or a few raspberries.
Enjoy responsibly!
